Unqualified: the Stories of God's Chosen.

For being omnipotent and all, God seems to make some pretty big mistakes when it comes to choosing the right person for the job.

Then again, maybe He is just really, really that good.

In reading through the Scriptures I have noticed a consistent theme emerging, and perhaps you've seen it too; that practically everyone God calls to do His work is pretty much unqualified to do it.

I’ve noticed that God has a tendency to call on people that we would never consider calling.

You see, the people we tend to seek are those with good references, solid experience, previous success, a list of accolades, a shelf of trophies and a strong track record.

The people God tends to seek are those who don’t. He hires people off the street with no experience. He promotes those who should probably be fired. He personally qualifies the unqualified.

Where we see something lacking, He sees a canvas to be painted.

Where we see failure, He sees opportunity.

Where we see a lump of unformed clay, He sees a masterpiece waiting to be molded.

Where we see a trash can full of bad resumes, he sees His chosen waiting to be empowered.

Over the next few weeks I will be posting stories of the Unqualified; those chosen for God's Kingdom work. Those who, on paper, should have never been considered for the job.

It is my hope that you will be encouraged to remember that “God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong” (I Corinthians 1:27)

For it is in those very moments when we feel the most inadequate, the most unqualified, that God may be planning to show His glory in a way that even we would never imagine.

Questions to consider:

1. Do you feel qualified to accomplish “big things” for God? Be honest.

2. Have you ever felt called to something, but failed to step out and do it due to fear or discouragement?

3. In what areas of your life is there a ‘weakness’ that God can use for His glory? Allow Him to do it!

Yes!!! I look forward to your writing :) Exploring the unqualified is great idea and will hopefully move us all to stop waiting for perfection. On my own journey of unqualified and shared it here... http://woundedhealerwarrior.com/2013/08/02/fine-ill-do-it-broken/

Thanks for being an #IDIB friend! Cheryl
